iter [ī’tər] n. latin: journey, a course or path
“Our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.” -Don Williams Jr. (American Novelist and Poet)
There are countless travel websites on the internet that will write pages and pages on every destination you could possibly imagine. But what about the journey, the experiences, the people, and the challenges along the way? These are the things that make travel special. My goal for Iter97.com is to blend stories with practical advice in order to showcase travel in a unique and authentic manner. While these posts come from my personal travel experiences, my hope is to avoid focusing on myself or the standard guidebook writing style (best kept secrets, hidden gems, and bohemian neighborhoods). Hopefully this blend of posts will be interesting and useful to you.
I am a Virginia Tech graduate with a passion for travel and love of wakeboarding. I have had the privilege of living in and traveling to many amazing places in the past, and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. In 2014 I completed my first round the world trip, which spanned 100 days and 13 countries. My current journey takes me to New York City where I am working as a media planner.
